Oozing style and elegance, the 3 AA rosettes L’Ortolan Restaurant is Reading’s only Michelin starred restaurant. Tucked away in the scenic West Berkshire countryside, this opulent restaurant sits in a red brick former vicarage and is the epitome of fine dining. You’ll begin the experience with a tour of the kitchen and an informative briefing before you work alongside Head Chef Tom Clarke and his team as you prepare the scrumptious Michelin starred lunch service. Upon completion, you’ll join Tom and the staff for a delicious light lunch so you can rest your feet from all that hard work! If you wish, you may continue to assist with the dinner preparation which will finish at approximately 10.30pm. What’s more, you’ll be invited back to this first-class venue to enjoy a tasting menu and wine package that will include ten courses and eight wines. Still not quite tempted? You’ll be escorted to L’Ortolan in a chauffeur driver car so you’ll really feel like royalty throughout this experience. Also included are an L'Ortolan apron and a complementary bottle of Charles Heidsieck Champagne.

You will arrive at the fantastic L’Ortolan Restaurant where you will begin with a briefing from the helpful and friendly Michelin Chefs and staff. You’ll then start the experience in the Michelin starred kitchen, learning fabulous cooking tricks and techniques. Next up you’ll enjoy a fantastic and informative hands-on experience as you prepare the lunch service followed by a light lunch with Head Chef Tom Clarke and the rest of his team. Once you’ve tantalised those taste buds you’ll stay on throughout the afternoon to help with the dinner preparation and service which will finish around 22.30. You’ll also be invited back to the restaurant to experience the Tasting Menu and Wine package which includes sampling ten course and eight wines. The dishes will be chosen by a master sommelier so you’ll be able to learn the art of combining food and wine. What’s more, you’ll also have the option to be collected in a chauffeur driven car however both the dining and chauffeur experience must be booked well in advance. You will also receive an L'Ortolan apron and a bottle of Charles Heidsieck Champagne as part of this fantastic experience

This voucher includes a briefing with the Michelin Chefs and staff, preparation for the lunch service with hands-on experience, a light lunch with Head Chef Tom Clarke and his team and preparation for the dinner service. A return visit to experience the Tasting Menu and Wine package with ten courses and eight wines and collection in a chauffeur driven car (up to 50 miles) is also included. You will receive an L'Ortolan apron and a bottle of Charles Heidsieck Champagne. This voucher is valid for 10 months for two people. This voucher is valid Tuesday-Saturday. The experience will start at 09.00 and the restaurant lunch will be served at 11.30, finishing at 16.00. You will then enjoy lunch with the head chef and staff until 18.00. You are encouraged to stay for the dinner preparation, although you are able to finish your day if you wish. If you choose to stay the finish time will around 22.30. The booking for the Tasting Menu and Wine package should be made on the first day of your first experience.

You can only book in the Ultimate Michelin Starred Chefs Experience at LOrtolan experience at the spa if the voucher has been activated. Please do not turn up at a spa expecting to be able to redeem this voucher without first activating it.
